Discover Beautiful Watsons Bay

Watsons Bay is the southern entrance to Sydney Harbour. On the east side is the Tasman Sea and on the west is the Harbour. It is rare to be able to see the ocean and harbour from the one point which makes this area the perfect place to sit, relax and watch the sunset.

Catch a bus (324) from Circular Quay, Edgecliff or Kings Cross to South Head Cemetery.

– Walk across Christensen Park to get to the cliffs and follow the path to the left making sure to keep the ocean on your right. While walking along the path you will pass the pristine lighthouse reserve. Continue along the path until you reach the Gap lookout.

After taking a minute to enjoy the dizzy heights of the cliffs, turn around and enjoy the uninterrupted view of the city skyline. Carry on along Military Rd and Cliff St until you reach the hidden beach of Camp Cove. This a great place to spend a day lying around and soaking up the sun. If you have a little more energy, then carry on up the path from Camp Cove toward Hornby Lighthouse. Along the way you will pass Lady Bay Beach which is a nudist beach, so expect the unexpected.

– Hornby Lighthouse marks the entrance to Sydney Harbour with white and red vertical stripes. Walk back the same way to get to Watson Bay Wharf.

– Watson Bay Wharf offers a nice small pub and restaurant that is inviting to visitors to rest for a while and enjoy the view. They also serve some fantastic fish and chips.

– Catch a bus or ferry back to the CBD.
