Arrival Day (Thursday)
• Flight arrival: Between 5 AM and 8 AM.
• Airport greeting and transfer: Upon arrival in Brisbane, participants will be greeted and taken to their dorm style hostel accommodation.
• Orientation session: An overview of the program and the week ahead will be provided.
• Welcome lunch: Group lunch.
• Setup for essentials: Assistance with setting up banking, tax file numbers, and SIM cards.

Friday
• Complete banking & setup: Ensure all paperwork and banking is completed.
• BBQ Lunch: A BBQ lunch will be held.
• Adventure activities: Optional kayaking, followed by abseiling.

Weekend (Saturday & Sunday)
• Free time to explore Brisbane and enjoy local activities before starting training.

Training Week (Monday-Friday)
• Monday morning: Travel to the training farm, approximately 3 hours from Brisbane.
• Training: Throughout the week, you’ll gain skills in:
o Horse riding and cattle work
o Motorbike, quad bike, and buggy driving
o Tractor and machinery operation
o Safety protocols for all rural work environments
• Job selection: You will select to apply for a farm job based on your farming area of interest as well as the farms location and profile.

Friday Afternoon
• Return to Brisbane to prepare for your farming work placement.

Saturday Onwards
• Participants will have been assigned to their employer and begin to travel to their new location (at own expense) to begin working in one of the designated farm roles.

Towards the end of your training, you will select your preferred role within the agricultural sector, based on your interests and skills developed. You will then review employment offers, which may involve researching farms through their websites, social media, and interviewing directly with farmers. With positions available across Australia, you have the opportunity to choose a role that best suits your goals and interests. All positions are paid at the minimum Australian award wage (approximately $24.10 AUD per hour (taxed at 15%), ensuring fair compensation for work.

This program offers a hands-on experience in Australia’s rural industries, providing practical skills and real-world employment in agricultural settings. Whether you’re interested in working with livestock, machinery, horses, or in rural tourism, the program prepares you with the training needed to get started and connects you with employers across various sectors of farming. You can choose from several areas of focus, including:
• Livestock Handling: Work on large cattle and sheep stations, learning how to manage livestock and assist with mustering.
• Machinery & Motorbikes: For those familiar with tractors, motorbikes, or other equipment, you’ll be involved in machinery-heavy roles on crop farms.
• Horse Work: Ideal for those comfortable working with horses, helping with mustering cattle and sheep on horseback.
• Rural Tourism & Hospitality: Assist with rural tourism, working in hospitality roles on farm stays or helping tourists explore the outback.
• Governess & Au Pair Roles: Support families in remote areas by helping with childcare and education for their children.

The farm work program offers a comprehensive set of inclusions to ensure participants are fully supported throughout their journey:
Accommodation: During the training week, you will stay in dormitory-style hostel accommodation on the training farm. Once placed with an employer, accommodation is provided at or near the farm, and in many cases, meals are also included.
Airport Transfer: A one-time airport transfer is available for participants arriving on Thursday morning, ensuring a smooth arrival in Brisbane.
City Orientation Activities: Participants will have the opportunity to explore Brisbane through organized orientation activities, including a welcome lunch, BBQ, and optional adventure activities like kayaking and abseiling, providing a chance to enjoy the city before heading to the farm.
Job Offers: Participants receive job offers towards the end of their training, tailored to their chosen area of interest within farming.
Farm Safety Training: All participants undergo comprehensive farm safety training during the program, covering essential protocols for working with livestock, machinery, and rural environments to ensure they are well-prepared for their roles.

To participate in the farm work program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
• Visa: Participants must hold a valid Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417 or 462) or another appropriate visa that allows them to work legally in Australia
• Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is essential, as many of the roles require driving on farms or operating machinery.
• English Proficiency: A strong level of English is required for effective communication on the farm, particularly when following safety instructions, interacting with coworkers, and handling farm operations.
• Insurance: It is strongly recommended that you hold a comprehensive health insurance which includes medical cover in a farming environment.
• Willingness to Get Hands Dirty: Participants must be prepared to engage in physically demanding, hands-on tasks typical of farm work, which can involve working outdoors in varying conditions.
