What is an internship?
Internships Down Under offers voluntary internships in various fields across Australia.
An internship in Australia provides practical training and experience in your chosen field within an English-speaking environment. The skills and experience gained will be a valuable asset to your future career and give you a competitive edge in the workforce. It offers an opportunity to develop your skills in an Australian business setting. Whether mandated by your university or pursued voluntarily, it’s an excellent chance to gain further knowledge, experience, and insight in a supportive environment.
Where in Australia can I complete my internship??
We have Australia covered! In addition to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide, and Perth, we are also able to arrange internships in smaller cities and towns.

Will I be employed by the company at the end of the internship?
The internships we facilitate do not come with a guaranteed job offer from the host company, as they are designed for temporary training experiences. However, it’s worth noting that some interns have been offered employment upon completion of their internship separately from our service.
Are there any age requirements?
While IDU does not impose any age restrictions, it’s important to be aware that certain visas may have age limitations, typically ranging from 18 to 35 years old.
Are the internships paid?
Although some companies may offer a small stipend, such as covering weekly transport costs or accommodation, all our internships are voluntary and unpaid. The focus is on providing skill advancement and training that benefits you, rather than on tasks like photocopying and making coffee.
What are your fees?
Please fill out the inquiry form, and we’ll send you information about our fees to your inbox. Read more about why we charge a fee for our service.
Will there be any additional fees I need to consider?
In addition to our fees, you’ll need to budget for expenses such as flights, visa, insurance, accommodation, and living costs. We can provide customised packages upon request.
What English level is required?
Applicants should have a strong command of English. Participants need to be able to pass an interview with the host company, as well as understand the work integrated training instructions provided throughout the placement. If you need to enhance your language skills or confidence, we can assist in arranging a language course. Proficient spoken English is essential for the internship experience.
